We drove out to Thorold tonight, to check out a park we’ve never been to.
Earlier this week, I made a big, involved personal Google map with all kinds of locations to check out, mostly hiking. Hikes with boardwalks, hikes with waterfalls.
I really didn’t think this would even possibility, even a few months ago. Now, I’m looking forward to exploring the province, going for long hikes again, and getting some semblance of normalcy back in my life.
I don’t know if this improvement is temporary, if there’s another flare in my future, etc... but I’m going to make the most out of my newfound freedom while I have it!
Anyway, tonight’s walk was really pretty. We timed it such that we were there for sunset, which it’s known for - it’s a boardwalk on a lake, and the sun sets beautifully over the lake. Just gorgeous.
A few pics:
We did the walk twice, once a bit earlier, then waited in the car for the sun to get a fair amount lower, then a second time for sunset pics.
No real problems with the right achilles, so hopefully it’s nothing. I talked to my Dr this morning, we’re going to give it a few days. If it’s not better by next week, I have to go for an ultrasound.
In other news, I’m officially not diabetic anymore!
My Dr was shocked that it’s come down so much - I’m not even in the pre-diabetic range - 5.9, down from 8.9 - so I managed to just skip it altogether.
I reminded him that I told him straight up - in late October - that I would NOT be diabetic by a year later. Yeah, I did cut that time in half, but it’s not like he didn’t know the plan, LOL.
So... there’s one obstacle dealt with! Just the weight and the tendon crap for now, then eventually the hernia.
You know, NBD.
